November 1924

Sunday 2nd   A fine day.  Revd Richards held service in this hall in the morning, there was a fair congregation.  Of course I was unable to go.  Mr Richards came here for dinner.
Pat & Dolly came in the afternoon.

Wednesday 5th   Revd  Thornley  (Methodist)  came to see me just as we had finished lunch.  He offered up a nice prayer for me, Bowden Birdsall came back with Jim from the steamer, I wanted him to witness my signature , Jane gave him afternoon tea, and Laurence Whitaker came to see me in the evening.

Saturday 8th   It was a fine day.  Mr & Mrs Stewart called here on their way back from Warkworth  where Mr S had sung last night at a Methodist concert, they staid for lunch.

Sunday 9th   It was a fine day.  There was no service here.  Hector & Jean went to Ti Point to spend the day,  Alma returned with them in the evening to stay.  Jim took me out for a drive in the afternoon, we went to Big Omaha.

Monday 10th   It was a beautiful day.  Wm Dunning, his wife & Mr & Mrs A. Dunning drove over to see me, they came as we were just finishing lunch,  Jane gave them afternoon tea.  I was very pleased to see them as they have always been kind to me.

Tuesday 11th   It was a fine day.  Alma returned home in the cream cart.  Received letters from Jack & Lily.

Thursday 13th   Wrote letters to C. Dunning, Mrs Addison, Mr Birss, and Jack & Lily.

Sunday 16th   It was a showery day.  Revd Addenbrooke held service in the hall in the pm.  On account of the weather there was only a small congregation.
The Parson came here for tea after the service.
It rained heavily all last night.

Monday 17th   Alma & Eyleen came in the morning for me to witness Alma’s signature,  they would not stay for lunch as they had a boat at cemetery point and the tide was going out.

Saturday 22nd   It was a fine day.  I got my boots on and went up to the garden and weeded round the flowers.  It is the first gardening I have done for over six months.

Monday 24th   There was a shower in the pm otherwise a fine day.  I got my boots on and was working in the garden morning & pm.

Sunday 23rd   It was a fine day.  Mr Aitken held service in the hall in the morning instead of Revd  Rouprecht,  all in this house went.  The parson and a Mr Clarke came here for dinner.  And Pat, Dolly and Edgar Dunning were here for tea.

Saturday 29th   It was fine during the day, but late in the afternoon it thundered , lightened and came on to rain.  There was a cricket match at the Domain between Warkworth V Omaha.
Warkworth battered first and made 31 runs.  Omaha made 114. Warkworth 2nd innings  37 runs, therefore Omaha won in 1 innings and 46 runs.
I planted out 7 Tomato plants

Sunday 30th   It was a very fine day.  Eddie & Ivy and three little boys drove over to spend the day.  Mr Milligan held service in the hall, all from here went except myself.  Mr M came up here for dinner so we had a large party.
