August 1924

Saturday 2nd   The sores on my feet which had troubled me while I was in hospital became bad again , so I had to call in Dr Bennett who gave instructions how they should be treated and bandaged.
The Dr prescribed Fellows’ Syrup to be taken in water three times a day .  Also Schnapps to be taken hot going to bed.

I remained at Mr Wallaces the whole month of August,  the whole of that time I was confined to the house sitting in a chair with my feet up.  Mr Wallaces very kindly dressed my feet night and morning.
On August 15th I attained my 81st birthday, Mr & Mrs Wallace were very kind to me also Mrs Simpson who was staying there.
⊗    I stayed at Mr Wallaces until Sept 3rd
