February 1895

Friday 1st   It was a fine day.  Henry was cutting firewood in Frearsons.  I was cutting Red Top seed in the E.R.   Killed a Sheep in the evening.

Saturday 2nd   It was a fine day.   Henry was cutting firewood in Frearsons.  Willie & I were cutting Red Top in the farm orchard.

Sunday 3rd   It was a fine day.  I rode over to Ti Point in the pm to call on the Copelands.  A Haskell, Walter & George Wyatt were here for tea.  I read service in the Hall in the evening.

Monday 4th   We were all picking fruit.   It came on to rain in the pm and we had to leave off,  we boxed up 16 Cases Orleans Plums, we picked more, but they were wet, so we had to lay them out.

Tuesday 5th   It rained heavily last night and this morning,  it cleared up a little in the afternoon, although there were some showers.  We were picking Orleans Plums in the farm orchard, but they were so wet we had to lay them out on sacks in the evening as they dried we packed them, we were working till midnight.

Wednesday 6th   We got up early and packed the remainder of the plums we picked last night, it came on to rain again, but cleared up about 10 am , the sun came up and the wind blew up from the W which soon dried the plum trees and we were able to pick and pack in the farm orchard.
The Steamer came in about 1.30 and we were just in time to get our Fruit down.  Maud, Willie & Horace came up in her.  We sent away 50 Cases of Fruit as follows.
